Tango in Buenos Aires


Buenos Aires, the most elegant city of South America is "La Reina del Plata" as sings a tango song. With almost 12 million inhabitants, Buenos Aires is the cosmopolitan doorway to Argentina, as well as South America. An intense European immigration marks the international character that makes Buenos Aires sound spanish in the Plaza de Mayo, feel Italian in La Boca and look French in the streets of Recoleta.

Tango and Buenos Aires are entwined together. There are many places in Buenos Aires where tango is performed on a daily basis to the point that it is a part of everyday life.

Places with Tango History:
Caminito in the neighborhood of La Boca is immortalized in the lyrics of a tango sung by Carlos Gardel and written by the composer Juan de Dios Filiberto.

Carlos Gardel Circuit is the tour of tango sites in Buenos Aires.
